Who this is for

Spend less time rebuilding your records.

Freelance accounting often becomes difficult because invoices, receipts and bank entries live in different places. Truetal helps connect the business records while leaving tax classification and personal-versus-business judgement with you and your adviser.

Best fit: Independent professionals and consultants who want a clearer separation between client work, business costs and personal activity.

What the workflow covers

Organise the records before deciding the treatment.

Client invoices and receipts

Keep invoices, due dates and customer receipts linked so unpaid work remains visible.

Business expenses

Record genuine business costs with their supporting documents and a clear review trail.

Bank review

Compare business records with bank activity without automatically treating every credit as income or every debit as an expense.

Useful summaries

Review income, costs, receivables and cash movement from the records captured in the system.

Scope, timing and pricing

Know what monthly freelance accounting will deliver.

Organising records is different from deciding tax treatment or filing a return. Define the recurring record work first, then separately agree any GST, income-tax, overseas-receipt or historical clean-up review required by your circumstances.

Direct client receipts

Client invoices, expenses, bank receipts, unpaid invoices and personal/business explanations.

Start with one complete recent month.

Platform or overseas receipts

Gross invoices, settlement statements, fees, refunds, currency information and receipt evidence may need separate reconciliation.

List each platform, currency and payment channel.

Older or mixed records

Personal/business mixing, missing invoices and old opening balances need a defined clean-up period before a routine can be agreed.

Confirm the months and missing records first.

Records and exports we can assess

  • Client invoice list, expense evidence and complete statements for the agreed period, shared only by an agreed secure method.
  • Platform settlement/fee statements and overseas-receipt evidence where relevant; bank credits alone do not explain gross revenue or tax treatment.
  • Known unpaid invoices, personal transfers, missing documents and the person responsible for tax decisions.

The proposed monthly review pack

  • Organised invoice, receipt and expense records for the covered period, with source references.
  • Bank/platform matching summary separating evidenced receipts, fees and unresolved differences.
  • Unpaid-client list and an exception register identifying missing evidence and the person who must answer.
  • A handover summary for you or your appointed adviser; no claim that this constitutes a filed GST or income-tax return.

What determines turnaround

Set the review date after the statement cut-off and receipt of the agreed documents. Incomplete platform records or unresolved personal transfers may require follow-up before a final pack is accepted.

What determines the price

  • monthly invoices, expenses and bank/payment records, using an agreed counting basis
  • platforms, currencies, bank accounts and GST registrations
  • backlog months and missing evidence
  • review frequency and required summaries
  • separately engaged tax advice, return preparation, filing or certification

No fixed service fee, tax saving or eligibility outcome is promised here. A Truetal software plan is not an all-inclusive accounting or tax-services contract; responsibilities, access and fees are confirmed before paid work.

Illustrative review and handover

Worked example: an invoice and a net platform payout.

Illustration only: a ₹1,00,000 invoice has a ₹97,000 bank receipt. The ₹3,000 difference must not automatically become an expense or an unpaid client balance.

Collect the settlement evidence

Compare the invoice and bank receipt with the platform statement. Check whether the difference represents fees, withholding, a refund, conversion or another item.

Record only supported treatment

If evidence confirms a ₹3,000 platform fee, prepare the gross-to-net bridge for review. Tax, currency and withholding treatment still depend on the actual documents and adviser decision.

Keep missing evidence open

If the statement is missing, label the ₹3,000 difference unresolved, name the person obtaining it and set a follow-up date. Do not force the invoice to appear settled.

Acceptance: Review the covered period, gross-to-net evidence, unpaid balances and open questions before accepting the pack. The business or appointed adviser approves judgement calls; the public page does not decide tax treatment.

Secure handover and exit: Agree which registers, summaries and source references you receive, the final cut-off, unresolved-item transfer and when temporary access will be revoked. Confirm file formats and retention before engaging.

How the conversation works

Start with the records you already have.

  1. Separate business records from personal activity.
  2. Organise invoices, expenses and supporting documents.
  3. Review receipts, payments and unexplained bank lines.
  4. Prepare a clear record set for your own decisions or adviser review.
Clear boundaries

What this page does not promise

  • Personal and business treatment is never inferred from narration alone.
  • Truetal does not promise a tax saving or decide deductibility without the relevant facts.
  • Return filing, certification and representation are separate from organising accounting records.

A practical next step

Bring your freelance records into one clear workflow.

Tell us whether receipts are domestic, overseas or through a platform, the months involved and your current record system. We will discuss a scoped workflow; do not send client files, statements, passwords or OTPs through the public form.
